Procurement & Commercial Manager £45,000–£55,000 | Predominantly Remote | Occasional Taunton We’re working with a public sector organisation that is looking to appoint an experienced Procurement & Commercial Manager to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced UK public sector procurement professional looking for a role offering genuine flexibility, with the position being predominantly remote and only occasional attendance required at the organisation’s Taunton office. You’ll take responsibility for a varied portfolio of procurement and commercial activity, working across the full procurement lifecycle and partnering with stakeholders, suppliers and programme teams to deliver compliant and commercially sound outcomes. The Role As Procurement & Commercial Manager, you will: * Manage a portfolio of procurement and commercial activities across multiple projects and programmes * Lead and support end-to-end procurement exercises, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, governance and commercial best practice * Develop procurement strategies and recommend appropriate routes to market, including the use of public sector frameworks * Lead supplier engagement, including market engagement, clarification, negotiation and contract award * Develop and manage procurement documentation, including Statements of Requirement, evaluation criteria, transparency notices, procurement reports, approval documentation and contractual documentation * Ensure appropriate governance, approvals and audit trails are maintained throughout the procurement lifecycle * Build strong relationships with stakeholders across commercial, finance, technology, operational and programme teams * Support supplier management and ongoing commercial activity * Manage competing priorities and ensure procurement activity is delivered within agreed timescales * Provide additional support and resilience to the wider Procurement function when required. What we're looking for Essential: * Demonstrable UK public sector procurement experience – this is essential * Experience managing end-to-end procurement processes within a regulated environment * Strong understanding of public sector frameworks and routes to market * Experience developing procurement strategies and commercial documentation * Knowledge of procurement governance, approvals and assurance processes * Experience engaging and negotiating with suppliers * Strong stakeholder management and communication skills * Ability to manage multiple priorities and procurement workstreams * Experience supporting procurement within complex programmes, projects or transformation environments. * Knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 and/or Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
