I am delighted to bring to market this unique opportunity with an established engineering and manufacturing organisation who are seeking an experienced Production Operations Manager to lead production activities within a growing manufacturing operation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business committed to operational excellence, continuous improvement and the development of its people.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for leading day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring production, quality, safety and delivery objectives are consistently achieved while driving improvements across the operation.

The Role

  • Lead and manage daily production operations, ensuring output, quality and delivery targets are consistently achieved.
  • Plan, organise and optimise production workflows, capacity and resources to maximise efficiency.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality and other business functions to ensure seamless operational performance.
  • Champion a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Lead, coach and develop production leaders and operational teams to build a high-performing workforce.
  • Manage workforce planning, staffing levels and operational resources to meet customer demand.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding and development of production personnel.
  • Ensure products are manufactured to the required quality and regulatory standards.
  • Support internal and external audits while maintaining robust production processes and documentation.
  • Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality and efficiency.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement sustainable process improvements.
  • Monitor operational KPIs, productivity, quality, cost and delivery performance.
  • Manage operational budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiencies.

About You

  • Proven experience in a senior Production, Manufacturing or Operations Management role.
  • Strong leadership and people management experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • A track record of driving operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, manufacturing processes and performance management.
  • Experience managing budgets, improving productivity and controlling operational costs.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with engineering, supply chain and quality teams.
  • Experience delivering both standard and customer-specific manufacturing programmes is advantageous.
  • Experience within a regulated manufacturing environment would be beneficial.

Technical Experience

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and production management.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience within flow-line and/or cell-based manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to analyse operational data and make informed business decisions.
  • Good understanding of health, safety and quality compliance within manufacturing.
  • Commercial awareness with a focus on efficiency, productivity and operational performance.
