Role overview:
Winberry are exclusively partnering with a specialist engineering business based in Cwmbran. This client provides solutions that help customers save time, effort, natural resources, energy, and cost. A brand-new Buyer role has arisen due to increased productivity within the team, offering an exciting opportunity to support procurement activities and contribute to the smooth running of operations.
As a Buyer within the procurement team, you will support the processing of requisitions, purchase orders, and invoice matching for the production and stores facility. Working closely with the Supply Chain Manager and internal stakeholders, you will help ensure timely, cost-effective sourcing of goods and services while maintaining supply continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process purchase requisitions, raise POs, and manage order confirmations.
- Match invoices to POs and resolve supplier/internal discrepancies.
- Liaise with suppliers to secure on-time deliveries and resolve supply issues.
- Maintain accurate procurement records in the purchasing system.
- Support stock replenishment and expedite critical components.
- Collaborate with production, stores, and logistics teams.
- Assist with supplier evaluation and onboarding.
- Monitor market trends and pricing.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Procurement or purchasing experience, ideally in manufacturing/engineering.
- Strong background in requisition, PO, and invoice processing.
- Good Excel skills and experience with purchasing systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc.).
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to work both remotely and on-site.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of logistics or supply chain coordination.
- Understanding of electronics, batteries, mouldings, or mechanical products.
- Experience in supplier onboarding and compliance.
