We are looking for a number of Ball Boys & Ball Girls (BBG) Assistants to join us for the Qualifying event for The Championships 2026 at Roehampton, between 22 June and 26 June.

What you will be doing:

  • Providing assistance and support to the Complex Supervisor and Upper Office Staff, and assisting in the effective running of the BBG teams by providing supervision in the following areas:
  • Courtside at the beginning of the day, checking that barrels are in place
  • Supervision of allocated courts on a rota basis
  • Assessment of BBG teams as specified, ensuring sheets are completed as required and shared with Senior Instructors
  • Maintain radio contact between designated courts and Upper Office
  • Ensuring that BBGs have sufficient water supplies
  • Notifying the Upper Office of any medical concerns as and when they may arise
  • Escorting BBGs to First Aid if and when required
  • Supervision of teams at times of delay in play
  • Ensure teams return to Complex at close of play and that all equipment is accounted for
  • Assisting in the effective running of the Complex by:
    • Ensuring registers and sign in sheets are completed and checked, reporting any absences as soon as possible to the Complex Supervisor
    • Supervising students in the main area of the Complex, providing help and assistance where needed/scheduled
    • Supervising the Changing Rooms and Quiet Area
    • Checking teams before they depart the Complex, ensuring they are properly dressed and equipped for court
    • Supervising queues for meals and the general eating area
    • Overseeing signing out of groups at the end of the day
    • Supervising BBGs as they make their way to and from the coaches
    • Report any inappropriate or excellent behaviour or incident to the Complex Supervisor

    What we are looking for:

    • Previous experience as a Ball Boy or Ball Girl at The Championships, Wimbledon
    • Knowledge of the BBG Complex and duties incorporated
    • Experience of working with children, ideally in a leadership or supervisory capacity
    • Enthusiasm and a positive attitude
    • Well presented, punctual and reliable
    • Excellent communication skills and English language skills

    Important Information:

    • You must be available to work at Qualifying at Roehampton from Monday 22 June to Thursday 25 or Friday 26 June 2026 - flexibility is required in the rare case of additional days due to rain delays.
    • Hours of work will be 9:30am to 9:30pm.
    • You must be 18 years or older before the start of employment, and have the right to work in the UK.
    • A uniform and food allowance is provided.
    • A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be carried out on your behalf by the AELTC and a fully clear disclosure is the minimum requirement for employment.
    • If shortlisted, phone interviews will take place week commencing 16 March.
