Wimbledon High School is seeking an innovative and forward-thinking teacher to take on the role of Digital Literacy Lead. This is a unique cross-phase position that combines teaching, curriculum design, staff development and academic leadership across both the Junior and Senior Schools. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and delivering a coherent vision for digital literacy and emerging technologies, ensuring that students develop not only technical skills and digital fluency, but also the critical awareness, creativity and judgement needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
Working across the school, the Digital Literacy Lead will oversee the development of a progressive digital literacy curriculum, teach Computing in both the Upper Junior and Senior Schools and contribute to Wimbledon High School's innovative Playful Scholarship Portfolio. From artificial intelligence and robotics to online culture, digital citizenship and media literacy, the successful candidate will help students engage thoughtfully and critically with the opportunities and challenges of modern technology.
The role will also involve supporting colleagues in the effective use of technology to enhance teaching and learning, helping to build confidence and expertise across the school community. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about education, curious about technological change and eager to help shape the future of learning at Wimbledon High School.
Applications are welcomed from both Prep School and Senior School teachers, as well as candidates with diverse academic and professional backgrounds, who are excited by the opportunity to contribute to a through-school approach to digital literacy and technology education. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful teaching, together with experience of curriculum development, educational technology or academic leadership. Experience of leading or contributing to enrichment opportunities such as coding clubs, robotics programmes, digital leadership initiatives or technology-focused projects would be advantageous.
Most importantly, the successful candidate will be an intellectually curious and collaborative educator who is excited by the educational, ethical and creative questions raised by technology and committed to helping young people become confident, thoughtful and responsible participants in the digital world.
