Wimbledon Guild is a community charity in Merton providing practical help and support to ensure that individuals do not face life\’s challenges alone. Whether it\’s financial difficulties, emotional distress, or social engagement, we are here to help.
Our BACP-accredited Talking Therapies department has been operating for over 40 years, traditionally offering long-term psychodynamic therapy. To meet emerging community needs, we\’ve expanded to include emotional support groups, psycho-education workshops, and short-term counselling.
Recently, we secured long-term funding to offer counselling and group services specifically for Black and Asian communities, refugee communities, and online therapy for those who are housebound.
We are seeking a Counsellor (Black and Asian Service) to provide up to 16 sessions of counselling to these communities at our Wimbledon and Morden sites. We welcome applicants with experience in charity or similar service settings. If this describes you, we\’d love to hear from you.
Please note: Applications for this position are restricted to individuals of Black and/or Asian heritage, as the role is dedicated to delivering our talking therapy service for Black and Asian clients. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies to this post.
Thank you for your interest in Wimbledon Guild. We look forward to your application.
