The Organisational Development (OD) team plays a crucial role in helping the council develop a flexible, highly skilled and capable workforce. Our goal is to ensure we have the right people, with the right skills and attitudes, in the right jobs, at the right time. The OD team also supports our communities by delivering training externally across Wiltshire.

The OD Assistant supports these goals by providing essential administrative support for key OD processes, training and workforce development initiatives. You will be providing support to the team by handling internal and external enquiries by phone, email and our internal helpdesk regarding learning, development and training requirements. You will be inputting courses onto Oracle, our Learning Management System (LMS), and our externally focused business websites and maintaining finance spreadsheets. You will process varied information, maintain databases, promote our external training arm, Wiltshire Training, and provide excellent customer service.

This role requires a high standard of IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office programs, along with general office experience within a large, complex organisation. The ideal candidate must be flexible and able to respond to competing demands, prioritising their workload accordingly. Experience operating under pressure and meeting tight deadlines is important, as is demonstrable experience using social media for marketing purposes.

If you have a passion for supporting workforce development and possess the necessary skills and experience, we invite you to apply for this rewarding position.

Why us? Wiltshire Council is a friendly, welcoming place to work, with a 'One Council' ethos. Our hybrid working model means office staff are on site for at least half their hours, community-based staff carry out at least half their admin time in a workplace, and customer‑facing roles work entirely from their service location. We are committed to creating a workplace where positive relationships thrive and everyone feels engaged, supported and able to do their best. We do not tolerate discrimination, bullying or harassment. Everyone is expected to promote a culture of inclusion, dignity, trust and respect, guided by our vision and Our Identity. We are firmly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and to the principles of inclusion and diversity in both employment and the delivery of services. We are a Disability Confident Employer.
