We are looking for an experienced ERP Engineer to join our Oracle ERP Support and Development team, providing hands‑on technical support and development for the Council’s Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) platforms.
In this role, you will act as a senior technical specialist, taking ownership of complex incidents, service requests and change activity across the Oracle landscape. You will diagnose and resolve technical issues, assess change impacts, and communicate clearly with stakeholders to maintain a stable, secure and highly available ERP platform supporting around 4,500 council staff and 30,000 external users.
You will also play a key role in the technical management of the platform, covering system configuration, integrations, security and the technical impact of Oracle’s monthly and quarterly release cycles. This includes leading technical testing and regression activity, and ensuring that fixes, enhancements and configuration changes safeguard data security, system integrity and service continuity.
The role involves close collaboration with third‑party suppliers and internal teams across ICT, Finance, HR and Payroll. You’ll provide day‑to‑day technical leadership within the support function while contributing to continuous improvement, helping the Council maximise the value of its ERP investment.
Proven hands‑on experience is required in supporting Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and Oracle Integration Cloud, alongside a solid background in integrations and data flows, user administration and security configuration, and technical tooling such as SQL, SFTP, PowerShell and VBA. Experience operating within structured incident, problem and change management processes is essential, alongside a broad understanding of wider ICT principles, sound judgement and the confidence to prioritise effectively in a business‑critical environment.
In return, you will have the opportunity to work on a large‑scale, high‑impact enterprise platform in a role that directly supports public services and the people of Wiltshire.
Why us? Wiltshire Council is a friendly, welcoming place to work, with a 'One Council' ethos. Our hybrid working model means office staff are on site for at least half their hours, community-based staff carry out at least half their admin time in a workplace, and customer‑facing roles work entirely from their service location.
We are committed to creating a workplace where positive relationships thrive and everyone feels engaged, supported and able to do their best. We do not tolerate discrimination, bullying or harassment. Everyone is expected to promote a culture of inclusion, dignity, trust and respect, guided by our vision and Our Identity.
