Are you passionate about helping young people reach their full potential? We are looking for an enthusiastic Education and Employment Adviser to make a real difference for 16 to 18-year-olds in Wiltshire.
In this role, you will support young people in taking their next steps by tracking and recording their education, employment and training destinations. A significant part of the role involves maintaining accurate participation records, following up with young people and families, and ensuring vulnerable young people do not remain disconnected from education, employment or training.
You will provide information, advice, guidance and practical support to young people, particularly those with SEND who are NEET or at risk of becoming NEET, helping them overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes. Managing a caseload, you will develop personalised progression plans and work closely with families, educational providers and partner agencies to coordinate effective support and participation.
A key aspect of the role is building positive relationships and keeping in touch with young people throughout the year, helping them find and sustain education, employment or training opportunities until they turn 18. This includes working with SEND, Youth Offending and Children in Care teams.
To succeed, you will need a Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) in advice and guidance, education, social care or youth work. Experience working with young people in education, social care or community settings is essential, alongside a good understanding of the education system, employability skills and equal opportunities legislation.
