In this role you will open the door to continuous development through invaluable learning opportunities within our team, making the most of your experienced colleagues. As the legal foundation for different Council teams, you'll play a crucial role in providing legal insights across an engaging blend of cases.
With the introduction of the Renters’ Rights Act, Wiltshire Council is strengthening its legal capacity to support services in this evolving area of housing law. We are therefore recruiting a solicitor to join our Dispute Resolution team on a fixed-term basis. While the role will contribute to building knowledge and supporting work arising from the new legislation, it will also involve a varied caseload across the team’s wider litigation and dispute resolution work.
Working collaboratively with services across the council, you will play a key role in developing our approach in this area while continuing to deliver high-quality legal advice across a broad range of matters. Based primarily at County Hall in Trowbridge, the role offers hybrid working arrangements to ensure the right equilibrium for you and the service, and there may be occasions where you need to attend court in person. Extensive experience is not a requirement – we’re interested in potential. This position comes with a 15% market supplement payment. All market supplement payments are subject to review on an annual basis.
