We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join the Medical Needs Education and Reintegration Service (MNERS), part of our Targeted Education Service. This varied role is ideal for an organised and proactive administrator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can respond confidently to changing priorities.

MNERS supports the Council to fulfil its statutory duties under Section 19 of the Education Act 1996. Working in partnership with schools, families, health professionals and other agencies, the service provides direct tuition and tailored support for children and young people who are unable to attend school because of medical needs. Our work helps learners continue their education, overcome barriers to attendance and make a successful return to school or transition to another appropriate setting.

As a Business Support Assistant, you will play an important role in the smooth and effective running of the service. Working closely with the MNERS Manager and wider team, you will provide high-quality administrative support across a broad range of activities. This will include maintaining accurate information from multiple sources, using Microsoft Office applications confidently, coordinating routine processes and ensuring that administrative procedures and service standards are consistently followed.

You will be a confident communicator who can build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues and partner agencies. If you are adaptable, attentive to detail and motivated by the opportunity to make a positive difference to the education of children and young people with medical needs, we would welcome your application.

Why us?

Wiltshire Council is a friendly, welcoming place to work, with a 'One Council' ethos. Our hybrid working model means office staff are on site for at least half their hours, community-based staff carry out at least half their admin time in a workplace, and customer‑facing roles work entirely from their service location. We are committed to creating a workplace where positive relationships thrive and everyone feels engaged, supported and able to do their best. We do not tolerate discrimination, bullying or harassment. Everyone is expected to promote a culture of inclusion, dignity, trust and respect, guided by our vision and Our Identity.
