About the role
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Team Manager to help lead our West Locality Discharge Service and play a key part in delivering efficient, effective services for adults across Wiltshire. Our team is part of a supportive, county-wide discharge service. This role is based at Royal United Hospital Bath and covers other settings, including rehabilitation beds in care homes. We offer a strong network of support, guidance, and professional development to support you in this role.
Responsibilities
- Support the flow between acute and community settings, to achieve positive outcomes for customers.
- Embed “HomeFirst” principles and ensure timely, safe assessments and support delivery.
- Deliver a high-performing, customer-responsive service.
- Supervise and support Social Workers and Social Care Practitioners, ensuring a culture of learning and development.
- Be a confident decision-maker who understands the importance of performance.
- Bring energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for doing things differently to achieve the best outcomes.
- Possess strong, refined leadership skills to support, develop, and motivate a team of highly skilled professionals.
Qualifications
You should hold a relevant professional qualification in social care or health - such as a degree or Diploma in Social Work or Occupational Therapy. A Level 5 management qualification (or equivalent experience) is essential, along with at least two years of management or supervisory experience.
