    Role: Turnaround Project Practitioner

We are looking for a self-motivated SEN support professional to lead on our ‘Turnaround’ project. The Turnaround project is a short-term respite intervention placement (2-week maximum); managed at our CrossKeys site (Salisbury City Centre). The daily provision will be 2 hours a day per student – up to 2 students per day. One student at a time. Students are in Years 7-11 and are in immediate risk of IYFAP referral.

Whilst on a Turnaround Package placement, referred students will take part in a series of intervention sessions to establish a re-integration proposal to take back to their individual referring school. Students will undertake our induction process, giving cognitive, social and emotional and academic diagnostic assessments, which are completed and analysed. We undertake a full review of their current curriculum to identify strengths and missed opportunities to increase chances of success.

Intense pastoral support will explore the issues surrounding the behaviours that have been identified by the referrer. Targeted 1:1 sessions will work directly on the behaviours and needs of the young person, establishing support strategies aiming to prevent issues recurring once re-integrated. Parental/Carer engagement will be encouraged with a view to establish any previously unidentified signposting needs for the family.

Following completion of the package, a meeting will be held with the referring school to discuss the support required identified in our report prior to planned re-integration. Upon completion the referring school will receive: a detailed report including analysis of assessment data highlighting any potential barriers to learning, a pastoral support plan including potential strategies to be utilised by the referring school to support the social and emotional needs of the young person within school.

Find out more and apply: If you have any queries about this role, please get in touch by calling Nicki Wright, School Business Manager on 01722786138 or email nwright@waspcentre.com to arrange an informal conversation with our Headteacher.
