If so, we invite you to consider a rewarding opportunity to join Wiltshire Libraries as our Library Manager – Communities & Engagement, based from Salisbury Library.

Your friendly and proactive approach will be central to promoting library services and outreach, especially to those who may not currently use our libraries and to residents who need extra support. You’ll be at the heart of our community work, forging strong partnerships with local organisations, groups and residents. By listening and responding to the unique needs of each community, you’ll work with your library team to shape library activities and services that bring the Wiltshire Library Strategy to life. Supporting our library teams to maintain welcoming, inclusive spaces where everyone can discover the joy of reading, develop new skills and feel supported

To be considered for this role, you should be able to demonstrate the skills and confidence needed to support the management of a busy library. This experience may come from public libraries, other library sectors or from other management level customer‑facing or community roles. You do not need a specific library qualification to apply however, working at a Level 4 standard, equivalent to an ACLIP level qualification, or similar experience is expected. Excellent organisational, communication and planning skills are essential, along with the ability to build positive relationships and broker community partnerships. A good understanding of current library priorities and a commitment to innovation are key.

This 28 hour post is based from Salisbury Library and is also responsible for Downton and Tisbury library. The work includes evenings and Saturdays, as part of a regular rota

Work pattern for this role is:

Week 1 - Monday 9am-5pm, Tuesday 10am-7pm, Thursday 8:30am-5pm and Friday 10am-4pm (27 hours total)

Week 2 - Monday 9am-5pm, Tuesday 10am-7pm, Thursday 8:30am-5pm and Saturday 9am-5pm (29 hours total)
