King Alfred Trust is a multi-academy trust formed in 2014. We currently have two schools within the Trust – Pewsey Primary and King’s Gate Primary and Puddleducks Nursery and Pre‑School. We are seeking to appoint an experienced, highly organised Chief Financial Officer to join the Trust. The role will be based in Pewsey but will require travelling across both schools.
Role overview
An exciting opportunity to join our Senior Leadership Team as the Chief Financial Officer has arisen. This role is pivotal to the success of the Academy, where the successful applicant will take a strategic and business focused responsibility for the Academy’s management of finances, administration and personnel management. You will work closely with the Executive Headteacher and Trust Board providing overall strategic and operational leadership, advice and support in respect of the core business services of the Academy. You will be responsible for preparation of the accounts and presenting them to the Board, preparing for audit and submission of the regular returns and accounts to the DfE in line with the requirements of the Academies Financial Handbook, of which you will be expected to have strong knowledge. You will have experience working within education or the public sector and have the ability to work within a well governed, publicly accountable environment that takes pride in providing quality education to all children. The successful applicant will be a superb communicator who can negotiate with external organisations and manage internal teams across the Trust. Experience in the following is essential: finance and business management, HR and payroll.
