Overview
The Strategic Assets and Facilities Management Service (SAFM) is responsible for the council’s property estate, including all aspects of property management: acquisition and sale of land and buildings, capital works, maintenance, compliance and facilities management. The Facilities Operations Officer will support the Facilities Management team in ensuring council buildings are maintained to a high and sustainable standard to achieve service objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support to the Facilities Management team.
- Monitor supplies and manage the postal operation within the hub building, including online business postal accounts.
- Provide first line response, support and resolution for Facilities Management and IT issues and general faults on site.
- Escalate issues where appropriate.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of customer service with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
- Awareness of Health and Safety legislation and experience in a customer‑facing role.
- Ability to prioritise own workload and maintain a positive attitude in a pressurised environment.
Working Arrangements
The hybrid working model requires office staff to be on site for at least half of their hours, community‑based staff to carry out at least half of their admin time in a workplace, and customer‑facing roles to work entirely from their service location.
