Qualifications

  • Qualified Environmental Health Officer, registered with the CIEH and completed the Portfolio of Professional Practice, or close to completing.
  • BSc or MSc Environmental Health student graduating this year with a Practical Food ID exam passed.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (for service delivery across Wiltshire).
  • Experience with high‑risk food processes or mentoring is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out food premises inspections, lead investigations, and provide expert advice to stakeholders.
  • Involved in health and safety and infectious disease investigations.
  • Mentor junior officers, help shape service development, and represent the council formally when needed.
  • Manage independent caseload and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
