Join our Support & Safeguarding Service and help shape the future of family support. We are excited to offer a number of fixed‑term opportunities for experienced practitioners to join us as Family Help Lead Practitioners. As part of the Families First reforms, our evolving Family Help Service is at the heart of an ambitious, partnership‑wide programme designed to deliver earlier, more effective support to children and families.

Funded through the Families First grant, these 23‑month roles are pivotal in driving forward a relationship‑based, evidence‑informed approach. You will act as the lead professional for a caseload of families, delivering targeted interventions and coordinating multi‑agency support to achieve meaningful, lasting outcomes while preventing escalation to statutory services.

Working within integrated locality teams, you will provide intensive direct support, undertake holistic assessments, and co‑produce family‑led plans. You will collaborate closely with a Local Evidence Lead Practitioner to embed best practice, contribute to service learning, and support the evaluation of innovative interventions that will influence future delivery across the service.

We are looking for compassionate, skilled practitioners with experience supporting children and families with complex needs. You will be confident leading multi‑agency work, managing your own caseload, and delivering impactful, relationship‑based support. If you are passionate about empowering families, committed to driving positive change, and inspired by evidence‑informed practice, this is a unique opportunity to shape services that truly make a difference — apply now to be part of this positive change.

We have positions available across Wiltshire, opportunities are available across our county‑wide locality teams in County Hall Trowbridge, Bourne Hill Salisbury, and Monkton Park Chippenham.

We are firmly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and to the principles of inclusion and diversity in both employment and the delivery of services.

We are committed to creating a workplace where positive relationships thrive and everyone feels engaged, supported and able to do their best. We do not tolerate discrimination, bullying or harassment. Everyone is expected to promote a culture of inclusion, dignity, trust and respect, guided by our vision and Our Identity.
