In this role, you will process applications for birth, death, marriage and civil partnership certificates relating to events registered in Wiltshire. You will search registration records, prepare certified copy certificates and ensure applications are handled accurately and efficiently. You will also provide advice and guidance to customers, responding to enquiries in person, by telephone and via email with professionalism and care.

Alongside customer service responsibilities, you will undertake a range of administrative tasks, including processing payments, maintaining accurate records and supporting the day-to-day operation of the service.

You will be confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and internet-based systems, with a flexible, team-oriented approach and a strong eye for accuracy.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team providing a vital service to the local community. Full training will be provided on our specialist registration systems, enabling you to develop your skills and build confidence in the role. Why Us? Wiltshire Council is a friendly, welcoming place to work, with a 'One Council' ethos. Our hybrid working model means office staff are on site for at least half their hours, community-based staff carry out at least half their admin time in a workplace, and customer‑facing roles work entirely from their service location.

We are committed to creating a workplace where positive relationships thrive and everyone feels engaged, supported and able to do their best. We do not tolerate discrimination, bullying or harassment. Everyone is expected to promote a culture of inclusion, dignity, trust and respect, guided by our vision and Our Identity.
