About The Role
We are currently seeking a dynamic, professional team player to join us as a
Firearms Licensing Officer
, where you\’ll play a vital role in public safety and responsible firearms management. As the first point of contact for enquiries and applications, you\’ll handle a wide range of case from straightforward to complex

What You Will Be Doing

  • Applicant assessment – Gathering intelligence and assessing risk, liaising with GP\’s and other professional referees to determine suitability
  • Conducting background checks on applicants, certificate holders, associates and referees researching local and national policing databases
  • Support the management of the department\’s shared email inbox, ensuring that incoming queries are acknowledged, responded to appropriately
  • Provide assistance with the production of Firearm and Shotgun certificates
  • Act as the first point of contact at the Firearms Licensing reception desk

About You And Your Experience

  • You must have experience of working with the general public (customer service, or other customer facing role)
  • You must have experience of storing and maintaining confidential information
  • Experience of policing, legal, licensing environments would be advantageous for this role
