About the role

We have an exciting vacancy within our Talent and People Partner team. If you are looking for the next step within your HR career, now is the perfect time to join us. We are seeking an Associate People Partner to support a varied workforce across the Force. You will help structure the way that HR is delivered across the organisation. You will work to embed within your business area, strategic and structured HR management processes to improve the employee relations function, manage organisational risk and create a workforce fit for the future.

You will have a wide remit of responsibilities which includes but is not limited to:

  • Facilitating effective HR processes
  • Providing expert case management advice, guidance, and support on a variety of employee relations issues (discipline, grievance, absence management, capability etc.)
  • Resourcing support to line managers
  • Coaching and developing line managers to effectively people manage
  • Project work
  • Continuously improving and streamlining ways of working
  • Change programmes

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in an HR adviser or Associate People Partner role is desirable for this role.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations case management.
  • Ability to build credibility and influence with stakeholders at varying levels.
  • Pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach with good judgement and attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator, able to handle sensitive issues with empathy and professionalism.
  • Must be able to constructively challenge and give advice.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced or complex environment (desirable).

This is an interesting role and you will ideally have demonstrable experience of undertaking case management within a generalist HR environment (for example attendance management, discipline, grievance, and capability cases), with sound knowledge of, and experience in the application of employment legislation.
