About the Role: Are you looking for a new and exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team as a Senior Building Surveyor (Projects)? We are recruiting for a Senior Building Surveyor (Projects) to join our Assets Team where we value the team's knowledge and expertise. You would be working on some of the most exciting and prestigious projects across Dorset and Wiltshire. As a team we pride ourselves on delivering excellence for our communities and the environment. Day to day you would be working on future strategic projects to align with our community safety plan. Your property portfolio will range from fire stations to corporate offices. You will play a pivotal role in supporting key stakeholder relationships and the feasibility of future projects, seeing these projects through to their completion.
Location: The service encourages flexible working and is open to flexible working options. The role will be based at either Dorchester Support Offices, Poundbury OR Trowbridge Fire Station with the flexibility to work from home / DWFRS Stations / Support Offices. There will be a requirement to travel across Dorset and Wiltshire approximately 1-2 days a week for key activities and meetings.

As a Senior Building Surveyor (Projects) in our Assets department you will:
- Be responsible for advising and assisting in the co-ordinating of the strategic capital projects programme with the Strategic Estates Project Coordinator.
- Carry out feasibility studies on potential strategic capital projects, including carrying out costings and exploring town planning compliance and preparing feasibility reports to issue to the Estates Strategic Project Manager.
- Assist with the management of contractors and external consultants to deliver the strategic capital projects.
What makes you our ideal Senior Building Surveyor (Projects)?
- MRICS/MCIAT/RIBA or equivalent qualification, educated to degree level
- AutoCAD ability at City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent and proficient in the use of Revit
- Effective knowledge and experience of project management procedures and requirements, including budgetary control and stakeholder consultation principles, design and on-site work
You must have a full current driving licence and be able to fulfil the significant travel requirements of the role. Use of your own vehicle will be required; however, a Service vehicle may be available. A Standard Disclosure & Barring Service Check (DBS) clearance will be undertaken on the successful individual prior to offer of employment.
