Delivering excellence in health and safety. We are seeking an exceptional leader and expert in Health and Safety to be our new strategic lead for the corporate Health and Safety service at Wiltshire Council. Working as one council, you will maintain the corporate health and safety governance structure, manage key risks and systems, lead a small advisory team and develop the health and safety service to ensure the safety of our staff and customers.
The post holder will support and influence full compliance and continuous improvement in health and safety practice using a range of techniques. You will fulfill the role of competent person on behalf of the Council and be the lead advisor to the organisation and the Chief Executive as statutory duty holder. You will be a specialist in health and safety law and practice, hold Chartered Membership of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) and have up to date knowledge relating to health and safety interventions.
We are seeking an excellent communicator, with extensive engagement and liaison experience, with the ability to provide clear advice and guidance, deliver training and influence the whole organisation by building and maintaining positive and productive working relationships with a wide range of internal stakeholders.
