We are recruiting a highly organised, proactive Executive Assistant to provide first‑class support to Cabinet Members at senior level. This role sits at the heart of local government decision‑making, requiring a sound understanding of political environments and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with complete professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Act as key point of contact, expertly managing correspondence, calls, and enquiries from a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring efficient communication and time‑management while protecting the Council’s reputation.
  • Anticipate priorities, coordinate diaries, prepare briefings, and ensure Cabinet Members are fully equipped for meetings, events, and engagements.
  • Work closely with Corporate Office and senior leadership team to align political and managerial activities and contribute to informed, timely decision‑making.
  • Covers duties including research into policy areas, composing responses, and developing creative solutions to emerging issues.
