Our Rough Sleeper Team is a frontline service that provides a holistic service to support individuals sleeping rough. It is a fast-paced environment at the forefront of delivering services to the public daily across the County.
The Rough Sleeper Tenancy Sustainment Officer works with a caseload to deliver the principles of Housing Led in our self-contained units, as well as supporting individuals who we have successfully moved on into independent accommodation. Using a trauma-informed approach, you offer practical and compassionate support within a team to ensure a safe and positive experience for clients. This role helps clients move from short-term stays to long-term housing, addressing benefits, health, finances, and personal goals. You will also handle challenging behaviour sensitively, ensuring both individual needs and service safety are balanced. Your aim is to help clients overcome the challenges of modern living after experiencing life on the streets.
Qualifications
- Proactive, client‑centred individual with the ability to handle challenging clients and build partnerships.
- Knowledge of welfare benefits, budgeting, and an understanding of issues faced by homeless or vulnerable individuals.
- Strong literacy, communication, organisational, and IT skills expected for problem solving.
