Salary: £31,537 - £33,699

Hours per week: 37 hours

Our Development Management Service helps deliver sustainable, well‑designed development that supports our communities, economy and natural environment. As a Planning Officer at a level 1, you will handle a range of planning applications, mainly household proposals, while gaining experience on broader projects alongside senior colleagues.

This is a front‑line role where you will make clear, well‑reasoned recommendations and work closely with applicants, residents and partners. You will be supported by your manager and wider team, with mentoring and opportunities to learn and grow.

This is a career graded post, offering a clear pathway to progress as you build your skills and experience. The structure includes Planning Officer Levels 1 and 2, and Senior Officer. We will support you to build your knowledge and progress through the career‑graded structure.
