In general, to be an active volunteer in the work of the Trust to restore the Wilts & Berks canal, especially regarding development of high-level strategy, governance of the charity and limited company, and public advocacy with external audiences (especially those with national remits). The Company Secretary ensures that WBCT complies with its legal, regulatory, and constitutional obligations, and that governance arrangements support the effective functioning of the charity. Trustees ensure that the charity is being correctly run, with operational activity being delegated to the Executive Board. Relevant training will be given. Up to 4 hours per week will be needed for Company Secretary matters, scheduled very flexibly.
