We are looking for a Structural Inspector to join our dayshift supervisory team at our Port Clarence facility. This role is subject to pre-employment checks, including alcohol and drug screening and also BPSS security clearance (as part of Wilton Engineering's onboarding process). Due to the nature of work scopes, all applicants must be UK Nationals, and all applicants should have completed a recognised apprenticeship.
The successful applicant will be working on long-term prestigious maritime projects, with full training provided to support the role in delivering the project to the high standard required. The applicant must have a plating background with experience of dumpy levels and other basic dimensional tools. You will be reporting to the Dimensional Coordinator and working closely with the Dimensional Control Team, ensuring support to the Construction Management in driving project schedules to ensure delivery on time and on budget (or better), while ensuring adherence to company HSE and quality systems.

Pay Rates & Working Hours:
- Monday - Friday: 0700 hrs to 1500 hrs & Overtime as required.
- £24.16 Basic day shift
- £36.24 OT1
- £48.32 OT2

Main Responsibilities:
- Full understanding of project specific standards.
- Carry out steel setup inspections as required by the customer ensuring fit-up tolerance standard.
- Carry out structural checks to ensure dimensions conform to client drawings, both pre-weld and post-weld.
- Ensure correct items are fitted.
- Scope to include weld setups, squareness of setups, checking that steel is set to set out points back marks, etc.
- Check for weld deformity which affects profile.
- Assist dimensional control as required.
- Follow the checks as outlined on the Wilton Route Car Process.
- Experience with Total Station would be advantageous.
