We are looking for a Junior Construction Support Engineer to join our dayshift team at our Port Clarence facility. This role is subject to pre-employment checks, including alcohol and drug screening and BPSS security clearance (as part of Wilton Engineerings onboarding process). Due to the nature of work scopes all applicants must be UK Nationals.The successful applicant will be working on long term Prestigious Maritime projects. Key Role Responsibilities The Junior Construction Support Engineer supports the delivery of fabrication activities by assisting with the preparation of engineering information, material requirements and production documentation. Under the guidance of senior engineers and construction leads, the role helps ensure that accurate and timely technical support is provided to the wider project team. Working closely with Construction and Engineering Teams, the junior role contributes to developing practical build methodologies, coordinating material needs and supporting efficient fabrication workflows. The post holder will assist in creating and maintaining 3D models, engineering drawings and bills of materials, while learning to apply company quality standards and health, safety and environmental requirements. Key Tasks Assist with collating and issuing material nests using information provided from Strumis or fabrication drawings for distribution to the shop floor. Support the Construction Management Team by contributing to the development of the project build philosophy and providing administrative or technical assistance as required. Develop proficiency in Strumis, using the system to carry out basic tasks and support senior team members. Provide support to the engineering team during periods of high workload, helping to produce CAD models, drawings, and bills of material based on specifications, sketches, datasheets, existing drawings, and verbal instructions. Use CAD system resources efficiently to assist with product variations and other drafting tasks under guidance. Follow WESL Health, Safety & Environment procedures, ensuring safe working practices at all times. Follow WESL Quality procedures, supporting the delivery of accurate and compliant documentation and materials. Carry out additional duties as requested by the Materials Engineer, contributing to the wider teams needs. Key Behaviours Good organizational skills and time management. Role Requirements Basic ability to produce engineering drawings in line with ISO standards, with support and checking from senior staff. Foundational experience with 3D structural modelling, ideally with TEKLA, or willingness to train and develop competence. Working knowledge of 2D AutoCAD for simple drawings, edits, and updates under guidance. HNC/HND in a Mechanical or Structural discipline (or currently working toward completion). Competent use of MS Office, especially Excel for basic data handling and reporting. Desirable Requirements Exposure to nesting software or willingness to learn as part of the role. Working Hours and Benefits 37.5 hrs per week normally working 0800 hrs 1600 hrs Monday to Thursday with a degree of flexibility. Early finish at 1500 hrs every Friday (where hours worked prior). 25 days holiday plus statutory (with the facility to buy or sell 5 days per annum). Company sick pay based on service.
