We are looking for a Junior Construction Lead, to join our dayshift team at our Port Clarence facility. This role is subject to pre-employment checks, including alcohol and drug screening and BPSS security clearance (as part of Wilton Engineerings onboarding process). Due to the nature of work scopes all applicants must be UK Nationals.The successful applicant will be working on long term Prestigious Maritime projects. Key Role Responsibilities Supports the Construction Leads with key Construction/HSE/Quality processes and procedures. Working towards becoming an established Construction Lead through personal and professional development, internal /external training programs, with an emphasis of coaching and mentoring from the construction department. Key Tasks To work in accordance with WESL Health, Safety & Environment procedures, policies and standard working practices. To work in accordance with WESL Quality procedures, policies and standard working practices. Support the Construction Manager with a build review / philosophy. Assist with adequate resources in terms of manning, materials and engineering deliverables. Support Schedule with two weeks planning lookahead for assigned project. Build professional and productive relationships with clients, colleagues and subcontractors. Attend weekly meeting to review construction shortfalls. Support in the need for temp material and highlight to the Materials Dept. Review and understand project drawings, 3D Models and documentation etc. Identify specialist tooling needs. Tie in with Construction team and Subcontractor regarding access (Scaffolders/MEWPs etc). Consistently promote acceptable standards of conduct and work performance for all WESL and third-party personnel working on the project. Highlight problems, delays etc. to the Construction Lead & Construction Manager at the earliest opportunity so appropriate remedial action and be identified and implemented. Support in delivering concise and accurate reports as required. Have a strong working relationship with the Engineering and Construction Teams and assist them to project completion. Perform tasks as required by Construction Management. Promote excellent working relationships with clients, WESL colleagues and suppliers. Key Measures Agree and achieve 6 monthly performance reviews. Strive for personnel development. Demonstrate proactive performance by anticipating challenges, taking initiative, and implementing solutions before issues impact project delivery. Develop strong schedule adherence knowledge. Role Requirements Gained City & Guilds level 3 in fabrication and welding. HNC in fabrication and welding (Desirable). Have strong knowledge of fabrication practices and processes. IOSH Managing Safely (min standard) or work towards. IT literate including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Bim vision etc. Working Hours and Benefits 37.5 hrs per week normally working 0800 hrs 1600 hrs Monday to Thursday with a degree of flexibility. Early finish at 1500 hrs every Friday (where hours worked prior). 25 days holiday plus statutory (with the facility to buy or sell 5 days per annum). Company sick pay based on service.
