We require a Backshift Trade Assistant for an immediate start on a long-term basis. Working closely with the fabrication management team and complying with all Health and Safety guidelines.
Role Responsibilities
Supporting trades with fabrication activities as outlined below and in line with training given.
- To work in accordance with WESL Health, Safety & Environment procedures, policies and standard working practices.
- To work in accordance with WESL Quality procedures, policies and standard working practices.
- Tack Welding fabricated parts in line with company spec.
- Assisting with mechanical assembly.
- Operating saw.
- Grinding.
- Guiding overhead cranes and hoists where trained for moving and assembling plates.
- Responsible for cable management, general good housekeeping in working area.
- Operating Scissor Lift and Cherry Picker where trained to do so.
Skills
- Training with Abrasive Wheels.
- Competent using grinders, rota broach and saw.
- Must be able to work independently or part of a multi-discipline team.
- Competent in tack welding.
- Competent in using overhead cranes and MEWP.
- Β£18.78 per hour Backshift
- Β£23.48 per hour Overtime 1 (Monday β Friday and 1st 4 hours Saturday) β project dependant
- 1530 hrs to 0130 hrs (Monday to Wednesday), 1530 hrs to 0100 hrs (Thursday).

A high standard of attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team. As part of the process a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), check will be conducted; this will require proof of 3 years of employment history.
