Responsibilities:

  • Cut, shape and assemble steel plate components.
  • Build parts/assemblies to engineering drawings with precision.
  • Ensure quality to a high standard through visual inspections to ensure fabrication & build are correct to drawings.
  • Manoeuvre fabrication machines such as grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears and flame cutters to cut, bend, grind and adjust materials.
  • Work from engineering drawings & specifications and correct revisions.
  • Place each product component in its appropriate spot as noted in the blueprints for proper alignment using the correct hand tools.
  • Grind, burn and perform other fabrication tasks.
  • Review blueprints, drawings and other specification papers before starting work on a fabrication process and during the steps to ensure accurate completion.
  • Employ furnaces or hand torches to heat up materials to make them more flexible for bending or manipulation into the correct specification.
  • Make templates/Jigs for common work tasks when conducting repetitive motions for the fabrication process to ensure a set standard of work quality.

Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge and experience in sheet metal fabrication.
  • Understanding of Q.C inspection and process experience.
  • Experienced in using drilling machines, rolling machines and guillotines.
  • Experience in steel metal work from drawings.
  • Experience in fabrication.
  • Competent in using hand and power tools.
