Responsibilities:
- Cut, shape and assemble steel plate components.
- Build parts/assemblies to engineering drawings with precision.
- Ensure quality to a high standard through visual inspections to ensure fabrication & build are correct to drawings.
- Manoeuvre fabrication machines such as grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears and flame cutters to cut, bend, grind and adjust materials.
- Work from engineering drawings & specifications and correct revisions.
- Place each product component in its appropriate spot as noted in the blueprints for proper alignment using the correct hand tools.
- Grind, burn and perform other fabrication tasks.
- Review blueprints, drawings and other specification papers before starting work on a fabrication process and during the steps to ensure accurate completion.
- Employ furnaces or hand torches to heat up materials to make them more flexible for bending or manipulation into the correct specification.
- Make templates/Jigs for common work tasks when conducting repetitive motions for the fabrication process to ensure a set standard of work quality.
Qualifications:
- Good knowledge and experience in sheet metal fabrication.
- Understanding of Q.C inspection and process experience.
- Experienced in using drilling machines, rolling machines and guillotines.
- Experience in steel metal work from drawings.
- Experience in fabrication.
- Competent in using hand and power tools.
