We are currently recruiting for a Senior Sous Chef to join our team at one of our busy conference venues in Warwick CV32 6RN. Wilson Vale is an established, quality‑led contract caterer. We work with amazing clients across the UK who place great value on great food as a key part of their culture and community. We work in office restaurants, independent schools and at conference venues with the same high‑end ethos throughout.

We’re looking for a passionate and ambitious Senior Sous Chef to join our vibrant catering team at one of our thriving Conference & Events venues in Warwick. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced chef ready to take the next step in their career within a professional, fresh food‑led contract catering environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chef Manager and Head Chef in the smooth running of the kitchen operation across all food services.
  • Lead and motivate a brigade of chefs, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation and service at all times.
  • Take responsibility for managing and running breakfast, lunch, dinner, hospitality and event catering services.
  • Oversee the preparation, cooking and presentation of fresh food using high‑quality seasonal ingredients.
  • Deliver innovative and diverse menus inspired by cuisines from around the world.
  • Assist with private dining events, conferences, formal dinners, outdoor catering, BBQs, hog roasts and pizza events.
  • Support high‑volume food production while maintaining consistency, creativity and portion control.
  • Work closely with front‑of‑house teams to ensure a seamless and exceptional customer experience.
  • Maintain excellent standards of food safety, allergen management, hygiene and health & safety compliance.
  • Support budgeting, ordering, stock control, stock rotation and minimising food waste.
  • Assist with menu development, weekly specials and seasonal dish creation.
  • Provide training, coaching and ongoing development for junior chefs and kitchen team members.
  • Ensure Wilson Vale brand standards are consistently delivered while bringing creativity and flair to the food offer.

Schedule & Working Hours

  • Permanent position, 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7.
  • 1 in 2 Saturdays or Sundays off during quieter periods.
  • 1 in 3 Saturdays or Sundays off during busy periods.
  • Overtime compensated with time in lieu.
  • Two weeks annual leave over Christmas and New Year.
  • One staff meal provided per shift.
  • Full uniform supplied.
