Overview
Wilson Vale is an established, quality-led contract caterer. We partner with amazing clients across the UK who place great value on food as a key part of their culture and community. From office restaurants and independent schools to conference venues, we bring the same high-end ethos to everything we do.
We are now recruiting for a General Assistant to join our friendly and hardworking team at one of our Independant Schools in Doncaster.
This is a permanent position working 15 hours, Monday to Friday, 2pm – 5pm but can be flexible if required. TERM TIME ONLY
What you’ll be doing
- Assisting with basic food preparation and dessert pots
- Supporting function set-ups, BBQs, buffets, and events
- Helping to deliver freshly prepared school meals for teachers and students in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workspace
- Working proactively and independently as well as part of the team

Skills and experience
- Have experience working in a similar role and environment
- Be highly organised and comfortable working in a high-pressured environment
- Ensure you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
- Keep up standards of hygiene and ensure all areas are clean and tidy
- Have excellent customer service and social skills
- Be responsible for the preparation and serving of food to staff
- Have a can do attitude and will work well as part of a team of 7
- Be customer focused
- Have basic food knowledge
- Be willing to participate and enjoy working part of the team
