As the successful candidate, you will safely perform a variety of tasks associated with the installation, removal and maintenance of thermoplastic and cold applied road traffic markings.

The Ideal Candidate

  • An experienced HFS Operative who has their NVQ Level 2.
  • Can work independently and within a team.
  • Has the right to work in the UK.
  • Has a full, valid and clean UK driving licence.
  • Can commute to and from our depot in their own transport.
  • Holds a HGV licence.
  • Is hardworking, reliable, committed with a 'can do' attitude to join our team.
  • Has the flexibility to work shifts and outside of normal working hours, and is able to work away from home/overnight if required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Drive, operate and maintain vehicles/equipment for the application of High Friction Surfacing on Highways and roadways.
  • Measuring, marking out and taping up.
  • Prepping of surfaces.
  • Check performance of the numerous components of HFS vehicles, equipment and plant; troubleshoot equipment failures and report unresolved problems to assigned staff.
  • Operate and maintain hot (190+ degrees) thermoplastic equipment for the application of Hot-applied High Friction Surfacing.
  • Operate and maintain thermal lances for the removal of thermoplastic road markings.
  • Install hot applied and cold applied High Friction Surfacing.
  • Install cold MMA anti slip surfacing.
  • Install hot and cold applied crack sealing.
  • Operate and assist in the operation of vehicles, trailers, and equipment, to include backup driving operations.
  • Perform manual labour, including the use of hand tools and operating various equipment; drive utility trucks daily; load and unload equipment supplies and materials.
  • Assist in the installation and removal of traffic control operations where required.
  • Ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures.
