Are you ambitious, hardworking and don’t want to be tied to a desk and the indoors? Earn as you learn to become a fully qualified Road Marking Operative, be part of a dedicated team at Wilson and Scott who pride themselves on delivering quality markings to a high standard nationwide.
Under the supervision and guidance of your manager and your chargehand, combined with study at the RSMA (over 2 years), you will acquire the necessary skills and on-the-job training to achieve an NVQ L2 in Road Marking. Starting salary is £550.00 per week (which will increase past this as you progress through your apprenticeship and beyond), plus a host of great benefits. The majority of our apprentices continue to work with us for many years after they qualify.
What will you be doing?
Under the supervision and guidance of our experienced Operatives and Chargehands, combined with online activities, webinars, tutorials, and 4 weeks of in-person classes and practical training at the RSMA in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, you will acquire the skills and on-the-job training to achieve your apprenticeship.
On a day-to-day basis in this physically demanding role, you will learn and help to prepare vehicles for carrying out road marking operations and assist the crew you work with in preparing and carrying out markings in live traffic environments.
What we’re looking for in our Apprentice:
- Experience is not essential, but a positive and professional attitude is.
- You are good at communicating, both face-to-face and on paper, and you’re capable of using your initiative.
- You must be someone who enjoys working as part of a team, and understands the importance of being reliable.
- You will be able to demonstrate an awareness of safety for yourself and other people.
- A full UK driving licence.
Working hours: If you are under 18 your working week will be 40 hours, Monday to Friday. If you are 18+, you will be working the same hours but you will also be eligible to work overtime and/or nightshifts if they are available.
