Join our team at London Gatwick Airport as a Resource Planning Manager, playing a crucial role to lead and coordinate short- and mid-range workforce planning at Gatwick, ensuring forecasted demand is translated into efficient, deliverable staffing plans. Working closely with the Operational Excellence team, who provide demand forecasts, the role is responsible for adapting these into practical, demand-led resourcing solutions that reflect real-time operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Workforce plans and rosters consistently deliver the right level of coverage across all locations, aligned to demand, service standards, and compliance requirements.
- Rostering approach maximises productivity and minimises over/understaffing through effective use of core hours, shift design, and workforce availability.
- Overtime and short-term resourcing are proactively managed to maintain service while controlling cost.
- Short-term planning is agile and responsive, enabling the operation to adapt quickly to changing conditions.
- Planning decisions are informed by accurate data and insight, driving continuous improvement in performance and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in workforce or resource planning within a fast-paced, operational environment.
- Strong understanding of rostering, scheduling, and workforce optimisation.
- Experience managing overtime planning and cost control.
- Confident working with forecasted demand and translating this into practical staffing plans.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (essential), with the ability to manage and analyse workforce data.
- Experience producing reports and insights to support decision-making.
- Good understanding of working time regulations, compliance, and operational constraints.
- Analytical and solution-focused.
