We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Logistics Chargehand (Blue Hat) for the Interim Delivery Point (IDP) department at Hinkley Point C. Please note, this is a temporary position to cover maternity leave.
As a Logistics Chargehand you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the HPC Distribution Compound known as IDP, this area of site is the logistics node allocated to receive permanent materials from the offsite Logistics partner for distribution to various locations around the construction site. The IDP Blue Hat will have responsibility for the efficient operation required to support the logistics throughput as defined by the construction schedule, managing the team that will be responsible for material within the compound and the safe processing of vehicles through the area and reporting on the performance against agreed KPI's.

Key Responsibilities:
- Executing the Traffic Management for IDP, including support of reviewing and escalating TMP requirements where needed
- Monitoring the dwell time of permanent materials in the compound against agreed turnaround times
- Managing vehicle throughput against the plan
- Ensuring the IDP team is being put to work and supervised correctly
- Ensuring daily tasks are gathered efficiently, clearly communicated and completed safely
- Ensuring operatives are trained correctly, monitored, and briefed regularly.
- Ensure investigations are carried out and reports are compiled following all incidents and accidents
- Support Black Hats in the delivery of Toolbox Talks and safety stand downs where appropriate
- Deliver Daily Briefings including Point of Work Risk Assessments (POWRA) and ensure reporting is carried out correctly
- Capture and collate KPI statistics for the Black Hats
- Ensure the IDP team have correct and sufficient equipment to support the works
- Check that Calibration and Lifting Equipment processes are strictly followed
- Ensure that IDP housekeeping is maintained to a high standard
