We are currently recruiting for a SOC Alarm Response & Investigations Controller (AR&IC) to join our client's Security Operations Centre (SOC) in Basingstoke. As the first point of contact for all physical security emergency escalations across the VE region, the AR&IC—alongside the VE SOC Lead—will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating real-time responses to incidents and alarms. This is a dynamic and high-responsibility position requiring strong decision-making, leadership, and communication skills. You'll be responsible for monitoring and managing alarm systems, coordinating incident responses, directing security officers, and ensuring all actions are accurately escalated and thoroughly resolved.

Operating on a 24/7 shift rotation, you will take personal ownership of incidents from the moment of activation through to resolution—tasking appropriate resources, communicating with regional stakeholders, and maintaining detailed incident records. Additionally, you'll support out-of-hours security operations across the UK, providing guidance and ensuring compliance with service delivery standards.

If you're a confident and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to lead and manage during critical situations, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role:

  • Act as the secondary point of contact for VE emergency escalations, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Monitor and operate security systems across the VE region, including IDS, IPS, SIEM, CCure, and Genetec.
  • Support emergency communications and escalate critical issues to the SOC Lead.
  • Manage site access and protect client assets using electronic and physical security measures.
  • Maintain full awareness of all SOC processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete accurate shift documentation and incident reports to a high standard.
  • Respond swiftly to client and management requests and adapt to evolving operational needs.
  • Conduct daily key audits and assist with access control across the region.
  • Remotely monitor and manage security incidents 24/7, tasking on-site security teams as needed.
  • Collaborate with physical security officers and stakeholders across Europe for incident resolution.
  • Identify and report system or software faults affecting security operations.
