We are seeking an experienced logistics practitioners to assess, develop and deliver logistics solutions across complex infrastructure, construction and operational environments in the UK and internationally.

This is a flexible and highly deployable practitioner level role, requiring the ability to enter unfamiliar locations, listen to clients and operational stakeholders, rapidly understand local requirements and constraints, and translate findings into practical, proportionate and deliverable solutions.

The successful candidate will combine advisory capability with hands‑on delivery experience.

They must be equally comfortable consulting with senior stakeholders, working alongside site teams and, where required, taking the lead to establish, mobilise or improve an infrastructure logistics function.

About the Role

As a Solutions Advisor, you will undertake site assessments, diagnose logistics challenges and develop solutions that improve safety, efficiency, coordination and programme certainty.

Assignments may range from short‑term reviews and advisory commissions to longer‑term embedded roles supporting mobilisation, implementation and operational improvement.

You may work independently, as part of a multidisciplinary team, or lead the development and delivery of a site or programme logistics solution.

The role requires agility, sound judgement, cultural awareness and a willingness to travel nationwide and overseas.

You will need to listen carefully, build trust quickly and adapt established logistics principles to the specific operational, commercial and regulatory context of each location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct logistics assessments and operational reviews across infrastructure, construction and live operational environments.
  • Engage with clients, contractors, project teams and stakeholders to identify requirements, challenges and improvement opportunities.
  • Evaluate logistics operations including site access, material flow, warehousing, workforce logistics, traffic management and waste management.
  • Identify logistics risks, constraints, capacity issues and operational inefficiencies, providing practical recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies, operating models and delivery plans aligned to client and project objectives.
  • Translate assessment findings into prioritised, cost‑effective and achievable improvement plans and business cases.
  • Lead or support the mobilisation, implementation and continuous improvement of logistics solutions and site operations.
  • Coordinate contractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure logistics solutions are integrated, compliant and operationally effective.
  • Monitor performance, establish governance frameworks and use data‑driven insights to support planning, forecasting and decision‑making.
  • Promote safe, efficient and sustainable logistics practices while supporting procurement activities, supplier management and knowledge transfer initiatives.

What we are looking for

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Significant experience in logistics, supply chain, infrastructure, construction, or a related operational environment.
  • Proven ability to assess complex operations and develop practical, deliverable logistics solutions.
  • Experience implementing logistics strategies, operating models, or service improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of site logistics, materials management, workforce logistics, vehicle movements and operational interfaces.
  • Experience working in complex, live or highly regulated environments.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities and deliver projects from assessment through to implementation.
  • Experience leading teams, mobilisations, projects or continuous improvement programmes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Commercially aware, with the ability to balance cost, risk, service delivery and operational outcomes.
  • Flexible and delivery‑focused, with a willingness to travel across the UK and internationally.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience across sectors such as aviation, healthcare, rail, defence, nuclear or major infrastructure projects.
  • Background in consultancy, advisory, client‑side or embedded delivery roles.
  • Experience mobilising logistics functions, services or operational sites.
  • Knowledge of warehousing, consolidation centres, logistics hubs and last‑mile delivery models.
  • Familiarity with logistics planning tools, forecasting, data analysis and sustainability best practices.
  • Relevant professional qualification or membership, such as CILT.
