Permanent position based in Slough with regular travel across the UK to other aviation sites. Full-time hours are Monday–Friday. Pay ranges from £32,000 to £34,000 depending on experience.

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Aviation Vetting Officer to manage the end-to-end vetting and pre-employment clearance process for new and existing employees, ensuring full compliance with CAA regulations, airport authority requirements, and Wilson James policies. This role requires accuracy, efficiency, and the ability to follow established processes while handling sensitive information with confidentiality.

About the Role

You will:

  • Conduct vetting for new and existing employees in line with Wilson James procedures, CAA standards, and ID pass requirements.
  • Manage background checks (including DBS/CRC, GSAT) via the Vetting Gateway platform.
  • Act as an Authorised Signatory for Heathrow and other Aviation sites.
  • Oversee ID pass management.
  • Coordinate Security Interviews and ID Centre appointments.
  • Respond to applicant queries and provide guidance via Vetting Gateway.
  • Chase references when required beyond automated processes.
  • Support onboarding of pass schemes for new airport contracts.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure full compliance with governance standards.
  • Provide data, reporting, and administrative support to senior stakeholders.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Vetting Gateway and ID Gateway systems.
  • Ensure strict adherence to GDPR and data protection policies.
  • Carry out regular system housekeeping.
