Permanent Location: Belfast International Airport, Belfast

Hours: Full time, 4 on, 4 off, days 07:00 - 19:00 and nights 19:00 - 07:00

Pay: £20.07 per hour

Wilson James are seeking an experienced and driven Security Duty Manager (SDM) to lead and oversee the full security operation at Belfast International Airport. This is a critical leadership role where you will hold full responsibility for operational delivery, team performance, and compliance across all areas. Acting as the primary point of contact for the Airport Duty Manager (ADM), you will ensure the highest standards of service, safety, and efficiency are maintained at all times.

About the Role:

  • Lead and manage all security operations, including CSA, OOG, HBS, CP areas and daily operational briefings
  • Oversee deployment, performance and conduct of Supervisors and Security Officers
  • Ensure all security lanes and operational platforms are fully resourced and functioning in line with customer planning
  • Monitor compliance and quality assurance through audits, patrol reviews and performance checks
  • Produce and manage operational reports, including staffing, performance data and incident reporting
  • Act as the main point of contact for the Airport Duty Manager and attend stakeholder meetings as required
  • Manage staff welfare, performance, absence, investigations and disciplinary processes in line with company policies
  • Drive continuous improvement by implementing instructions from senior management and identifying operational risks

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in a security leadership or managerial role, ideally within an airport or high‑profile environment
  • Strong understanding of operational planning, compliance, and quality assurance processes
  • Excellent leadership, coaching and people management skills
  • Ability to make quick, effective decisions under pressure and in emergency situations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports
  • Flexible approach with the ability to work both day and night shifts
  • High level of personal professionalism, reliability, punctuality and presentation
  • SIA licence (or ability to obtain) and a strong commitment to customer service excellence
  • Hold current DBS / CTC Clearance
  • Aviation Security Manager (ASM) Qualified
  • Ground Security Supervisor (GSS Qualified)
  • Be available for work 24/7 as the work is shift based
  • IT literate (Microsoft Office)

Desirable:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience of working in aviation security
  • An Access NI Disclosure Check will be required for this position
