Wilson James is seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Account Director – Security & Risk to join our Customer Facilities Team. This pivotal role provides strategic leadership across security operations, business continuity, and health & safety, ensuring a resilient, high‑performing service for our client. You will oversee a diverse security workforce, maintain strong client relationships, deliver expert risk guidance, and ensure operational excellence across all security and safety functions. With a visible on‑site presence, you will lead incident response, drive continuous improvement, and support the development of a highly capable security team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all security operations through the Duty Security Managers, ensuring high standards of performance and professionalism.
  • Build strong relationships with the client, attending planning meetings to ensure staffing, safety, and event requirements are fully met.
  • Develop partnerships with government agencies and neighbouring organisations to enhance intelligence sharing and risk awareness.
  • Provide expert guidance on Health & Safety strategies for events, viewings, and day‑to‑day operations.
  • Support and guide the Business Continuity planning process, ensuring robust and effective resilience measures.
  • Oversee risk management activities, including annual Security Risk Assessments and ongoing mitigation planning.
  • Ensure all compliance, training, and development activities are planned, delivered, and accurately recorded.
  • Produce high‑quality financial, performance, and KPI reports, supporting contractual objectives and client expectations.

What We Are Looking For (Qualifications)

  • Proven management experience within security operations, including oversight of shift workers, event staff, and ad‑hoc teams.
  • Strong problem‑solving ability with the confidence to act decisively under pressure and during emergencies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce clear written reports and deliver concise verbal briefings.
  • High standards of personal presentation, reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with clients, colleagues, and members of the public, promoting inclusivity and EDI principles.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and valid SIA Licence (DS or CP).
  • Relevant qualifications, including First Aid at Work, NEBOSH (General Certificate and Fire & Risk Management), and Security or Business Risk Management certifications.
