Overview
Job title: Permit Document Controller
Location: Hinkley Point, Somerset (limited off-site travel)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Starting from £36,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Working Hours: 39 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 9 days fortnight (Monday to Friday for week 1 and Monday to Thursday for week 2). A Monday to Friday shift pattern is also available.
Please note: There is limited opportunity for remote working due to the nature of the role.
Working at HPC as part of the Document Control and Quality Team, you will administer the Wilson James Document Control systems and coordinate the Permit and Work Authorisation process ensuring compliance with Wilson James and NNB requirements. You will liaise with the Project Teams, Permit Office and other Stakeholders to ensure timely applications and renewals. You will also support the administration of the Wilson James Quality Assurance and Document Control team processes, activities and systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Administer the Document Control systems including the EDRMS (Electronic Document and Records Management System) and act as Central Coordinator of Work Authorisation and Permit applications
- Maintain a Permit and Work Authorisation tracker and support maintenance of other Document Control and Quality trackers
- Support Project teams with documentation—quality checking, formatting, uploading, distributing and collating
- Liaise with Project Teams and Permit Office to ensure application and renewal deadlines are met
- Work with stakeholders, including NNB staff, to mitigate issues in documentation, information and application submission
- Coordinate internal review and approval process and update the Review and Approval matrix
- Liaise with other contractors/NNB and use systems such as Teamcenter and Field View to support external review and compliance
- Maintain and update the WJ Permit Coordination Plan
- Generate Permit and Work Authorisation related reports (e.g., status reports)
- Provide training, guidance and support on the WJ Document Control and Permit systems and processes including Asite
- Undertake and support other Document Control and Quality activities as required
- Provide Document Control cover as needed

- Proven administration and document control experience
- Successful completion of the Client\’s Permit Acceptors course (provided as part of the role)
- CITB HS&E Operative Test (must be obtained before the start date)
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Intermediate/Advanced IT skills – Word, Excel, PDFs and PowerPoint
- Strong organisational and administration skills with attention to detail
- Ability to interact effectively with internal and external staff at all levels
- Reliability with punctuality and attendance to ensure team effectiveness
Desirable
- Experience of quality processes
- Full Driving Licence
Site Specific Information
- You must be able to provide a 3-year work history and undergo vetting in line with HPC protocols
- You must be able to obtain the HPC pass
- The site is located remotely and a 45-minute bus journey each way is required to gain access
