Location: Site-based at Hinkley Point C, Somerset

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: From £37,500 per annum, depending on experience

Play a key role in supporting the logistics behind one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects at Hinkley Point C. You will work in a collaborative environment where your input helps shape positive outcomes and support a culture that values people, development and shared success.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong and visible commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental standards, ensuring all transport movements and access bookings comply with site rules and Wilson James / MEH safety requirements.
  • Coordinate daily transport requirements for material movements from IDPB to onsite locations, including Bunker 6, C2, and other construction interfaces.
  • Create, manage, and maintain accurate Magenta (VCAP) bookings using the Fulcrum system, ensuring all vehicle movements are authorised, sequenced correctly, and aligned to delivery readiness.
  • Confirm transport availability, vehicle suitability, driver readiness, and route access prior to release of each movement.
  • Coordinate directly with Building Material Controllers to confirm that suitable personnel, access, lifting arrangements and receiving space are available prior to dispatch.
  • Act as the primary operational interface between Wilson James transport operations and MEH Logistics for all IDPB outbound movements.
  • Monitor execution of planned movements and proactively manage exceptions including delays, cancelled bookings, access conflicts or site constraints.
  • Maintain accurate movement records and booking status within Fulcrum and associated MEH systems.
  • Escalate operational risks, access conflicts or repeated booking failures to the MEH Logistics Lead and Wilson James Supervisor through active engagement in area coordination meetings.
  • Support continuous improvement of booking accuracy, delivery reliability and interface efficiency through structured feedback and data review.

Qualifications

  • Experience in transport coordination, logistics scheduling or site access control within a regulated construction or infrastructure environment.
  • Familiarity with vehicle booking, access control or permit systems.
  • Strong operational coordination and communication skills across multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical environment with competing priorities.
  • Good IT literacy with confidence in managing live operational systems.
  • Understanding of construction site logistics, vehicle movements and access control principles.
  • Ability to provide a 3‑year work/education/unemployment history for vetting.
  • Ability to obtain an HPC site pass.
  • Willingness to travel via a bus journey of approximately 45 minutes to/from site.
