Security Support Officer / Control Room Operator

Permanent Location: King Street, London Hours: Zero hours, variable shift (days and nights) Pay: £ 16.00 per hour

About the Role

The Security Support Officer / Control Room Operator plays a key role in supporting the safe, secure and professional delivery of events and day‑to‑day security operations, while also contributing to a positive customer experience for employees, clients, visitors, contractors and guests.

  • Engage confidently, professionally and positively with employees, clients, visitors, contractors and guests, ensuring a welcoming and reassuring security presence at all times.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service by assisting with directions, visitor queries, queue management, event flow, front‑of‑house activity and general support where required.
  • Conduct regular patrols, checks and site observations, ensuring that any concerns are reported promptly and appropriate action is taken.
  • Operate CCTV systems to monitor internal and external activity around the premises in line with the Client and Wilson James CCTV policies and procedures.
  • Operate within the Security Control Room, ensuring the security of the room, its equipment, systems, records and data.

Qualifications

  • Door Supervisor Licence.
  • CCTV Licence.
  • Previous experience in a security, control room, customer service, hospitality, events or front‑of‑house environment.
  • Excellent customer service and engagement skills, with the ability to interact confidently and professionally with a wide range of people.
  • Good observational skills and the ability to identify, assess and report potential risks or concerns.
  • Ability to manage confidential information and security‑related data with discretion and professionalism.
