The Travel Risk & Security (TRS) Analyst role is a crucial part of our employee and asset safety programme in the EMEA region. The main responsibility will be protecting personnel, assets, and operations through proactive risk assessment, threat intelligence, and incident response. This role integrates travel risk management, physical security analysis, and intelligence gathering to support strategic and operational decision-making. The analyst monitors global threats, provides actionable intelligence, and enhances the organisation's resilience to physical and travel-related risks. Working in a fast-paced environment, the incumbent must remain flexible and be able to adapt to the changing needs.

About the Role:

  • Monitor geopolitical events, terrorism, crime, health outbreaks, and other risks that could affect travellers or business operations.
  • Continuously research and analyse security intelligence (open-source, third party reports, government, in-house applications) to produce threat assessments and alerts.
  • Collect, analyse, and disseminate actionable intelligence on threats to personnel, assets, and operations.
  • Continuously update and create “common operating picture” reports for decision-makers.
  • Maintain threat databases and contribute to risk forecasting models.
  • Evaluate the risk level of destinations (crime rates, political instability, health hazards, infrastructure issues, etc.) and maintain travel risk matrix.
  • Conduct pre-travel risk assessments and provide tailored security briefings.
  • Work closely with the Travel Risk Management team, security and travel partners, ensuring necessary risk mitigation and controls are in place.
  • Track and log all employee travel to medium- and high-risk destinations, including traveller itineraries.
  • Collaborate with travel management companies, security vendors, and medical assistance providers.
  • Track and report on travel to high-risk destinations, ensuring compliance with internal protocols.
  • Analyse travel data to identify trends and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct de-briefing with the travellers and document lessons learned for improvements.
  • Continuous monitoring of developments and adjust our travel risk posture accordingly. Apply temporary restrictions in response to ongoing and emerging threats such as pandemics, geopolitical risks, civil unrest, or natural disasters.
  • Assess intelligence-based physical security risks across corporate offices, facilities, and remote sites.
  • Analyse crime trends, threat intelligence, and incident data to inform security strategies.
  • Recommend mitigation measures and improvements to reduce physical security risks.
  • Track and analyse protest activity, civil unrest, and activist movements that may impact business operations or event venues.
