The predicted salary is between 16 - 16 £ per hour.

Location: London. Hours: Full time, 42 hours a week, 4 on, 4 off, Monday - Sunday, days only, 6am - 6pm (may require late nights if required). Pay: £16.00 per hour.

About the Role

We are seeking a confident and highly capable Loading Bay Supervisor to lead and manage this critical operational area. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a fast‑paced, high‑profile environment where safety, coordination, and professionalism are essential to the Museum's success.

  • Lead and supervise all day‑to‑day Loading Bay operations, ensuring activities are safe, secure, and well‑controlled.
  • Coordinate vehicle movements, deliveries, collections, and contractor access in line with site procedures.
  • Manage access control, ensuring all documentation, authorisations, and passes are verified and recorded.
  • Monitor operational activity, identify risks, and take prompt action to resolve or escalate issues.
  • Supervise and brief security officers, ensuring clear task allocation and effective shift handovers.
  • Enforce traffic management, safety procedures, and compliance with site rules for all drivers and contractors.
  • Promote high standards of health & safety, challenging unsafe behaviours and ensuring safe systems of work.
  • Lead initial response to incidents and emergencies within the Loading Bay, ensuring accurate reporting and escalation.

What we are looking for

  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
  • Proven supervisory experience within security, logistics, facilities, or a similar operational environment.
  • Ability to confidently lead, organise, and motivate teams in a busy, fast‑moving setting.
  • Experience coordinating deliveries, contractor activity, and vehicle movements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Good written skills, including accurate incident reporting, logs, and operational documentation.
  • Knowledge of health & safety principles and commitment to safe working practices.
  • Calm, professional, and decisive approach when working under pressure.

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Banksperson / Vehicle Marshal qualification.
  • Experience in a museum, heritage, or visitor attraction environment.
  • First Aid qualification or knowledge of emergency procedures.
