Join Our Team as a Security Officer! Are you a vigilant and dedicated professional looking for a rewarding career in security? We are seeking a reliable and proactive Security Officer to help maintain a safe and secure environment for our staff, visitors, and assets. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring premises, conducting patrols, responding to incidents, and ensuring that security protocols are upheld at all times.

Permanent Full‑Time role.

Location: Santander Sheffield

Hours: Various hours

Pay: £13.10 hourly rate

About the Role:

  • Welcoming staff and visitors and creating a safe, professional atmosphere
  • Detect and deter unauthorised activity throughout the Santander property
  • Be fully conversant with the layout of the building and aware of current threats and challenges faced by Santander
  • Conduct regular patrols and monitor premises to prevent unauthorised access, theft, or vandalism
  • Monitor access points, CCTV, and handle security procedures
  • Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, taking appropriate action as needed
  • Complete detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and any security concerns
  • Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations and first aid support if required
  • Adapt to different client sites – no two days are the same
  • Respond calmly and confidently to incidents or concerns
  • Work as part of a diverse, supportive team

What We Are Looking For:

  • Hold a current DS SIA licence and a CCTV licence
  • Proven experience in a security role or a similar position
  • Strong observational skills with the ability to identify and respond to security threats
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, visitors, and authorities
  • Ability to remain calm and act decisively in high‑pressure situations
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
