The Control Room Officer plays a central role in maintaining the safety and security of the museum, its staff, visitors, and collections. This position is based in the museum's control room and is responsible for monitoring security systems, coordinating responses to incidents, and supporting security officers across the site. Responsibilities
- The Control Room Officer monitors CCTV systems, alarm panels, and radio communications throughout the site.
- They respond promptly to incidents, alarms, lift entrapments, and emergency activations, ensuring the appropriate action and escalation take place.
- The Control Room Officer supports the daily running of museum operations by assisting with building opening and closing procedures, monitoring patrol routes, and ensuring equipment such as radios, keys, and PPE is correctly issued and recorded.
- Conducting routine system checks such as fire and intruder alarm testing, supporting evacuation procedures, ensuring compliance with site policies, and contributing to a safe and well‑coordinated museum environment.

Hours: 4 on 4 off (07:00-19:00)

What We Are Looking For
- Applicants must hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor and CCTV licence and have experience working in security, ideally within a control room environment.
- Strong communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and confidence in using CCTV and radio systems.
- A good standard of administration and attention to detail, with proven customer‑service experience in a front‑line role.
- Flexibility is important, as the role may include occasional evening or event support.
